OUTBACK LEATHER can be found in the heart of Old Town Laurel, MD, with Ron & Deanna Sargent behind the wheel of this well oiled machine.  They have served the community for 30 years building and expanding their solid reputation as the east coast's fastest & largest custom leather repair facility.  There isn't anything with leather they can't do.  Like Ron says: "If you can draw it, we can make it."

Ron studied with members of the “Society of Master Saddlers.” Ron returned to the states to devote 15 years working for “Gayers”, a MD based tack shop. OUTBACK LEATHER is now located in the original building that housed Gayers Saddlery [309 Main Street].

While Ron promises most repairs completed within 24 hours, {Custom Chaps within a week} it’s not unusual for a customer to hang around for some shared belly laughter and walk away with a smile & the completed repairs in hand. For long distance customers, as far away as the Virgin Islands, OUTBACK LEATHER welcomes mail order repairs.

Ron does everything from custom made chaps to custom fitting a saddle to your horse. He is more than happy to make “Farm Calls” for custom saddle fittings. Customers in a hurry are invited to trailer their horse to the shop to ensure the best fit.
